Young people continue to be over-represented in homelessness services: 30% of people accessing homelessness services in England in 2018 were aged 16-25 despite this age group only accounting for 12.3% of the total population

Youth homelessness is a strategic priority for HCC. In our four year organisational strategy ‘Be the Change’ we commit to identifying interventions, opportunities and risks to prevent and tackle youth homelessness. With funding we aim to secure, we want to implement our evidenced-based strategy to reduce youth homeless figures nationally. In line with the Homeless Reduction Act 2018, we believe in supporting those most vulnerable, to ensure wrap around services to cater to their needs.
